Attorney McKinney graduated from Columbia University, School of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Political Science from Yale University. She is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and New York, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Fourth, District of Columbia and Federal Circuits. After graduating from law school, Attorney McKinney joined Arent Fox in Washington, DC, as an Associate, providing advice and counseling to clients on compliance with federal discrimination laws. She gained extensive knowledge of all areas of employment law, including discipline and termination, leave and FMLA, reasonable accommodation, sexual harassment, drafting and advising on personnel policies, serving as a second-chair in collective bargaining negotiations, and administering collective bargaining agreements.
Attorney McKinney has also assisted several notable defense firms with class-action employment discrimination cases. This work has included Title VII class action cases and a decertified class action involving Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) allegations of misclassification by independent contractors.
